Hey everyone. GGs at the LAN. That was fun. Rock Band kinda invaded and took over. Lots of Savage, Quake 3, and Warcraft 3. We gotta get some variety back into our LANs...
Nominations/elections this week, at the normal meetings: April 24, Thursday, 9:00 PM, VH1010. Remember, you can only vote if you're a paid member. Nominate anyone and everyone. The more people nominated, the fewer can vote, and the faster that the actual voting will take (though speeches will be longer...).
CGA Hockey this weekend the 27th. Someone has the time for it. I don't. It'll be at the rec center.

LAN PARTY!!!
HEy everyone. LAN party this weekend, Friday and Saturday, same drill as usual.
It is free.
6:00 PM to midnight, Friday, April 11
2:00 PM to midnight, Saturday, April 12
Location: VH 1232
Food and drink are not allowed in 1232, however, there is a nice bench outside the room and people are encouraged to eat there and bring food to share. It's also normal for there to be at least one restaurant run during the event.
Bring your own computer, or use one of the lab computers there. Approximately 5 lab computers will be set up to run a few of the games, depending on availability of extra copies of the game. It is always better to bring your own computer. If you need help transporting it, contact anyone in the organization and we'll help.
If there is a game you want to play, come and yell at everyone to play it and odds are good that we will play it. For ideas about the usual games we play, look at this list of games we play at LANs. We'll also probably play some Team Fortress 2... I hope.
There's also been talk of playing norma RTS games, as RTS games.
I think everything is right here... a Facebook event should be created...

We've got a busy schedule ahead!
We've got a ton of events lined up for the second half of the semester:
Our first event will be CGA movie night on Friday, March 28th in Magruder Hall from 7:00PM - 12:00PM. Movies have yet to be decided. We'll be taking votes the next couple of meetings.
We've decided to bring back an old favorite this semester. On Sunday, March 30th, we're having CGA Hockey in the Rec Center from 1:00PM - 3:00PM.
Console Night will be on April 4th starting at 7:00PM in the Ryle main lounge.
We're going to have another lan sometime in April, though the exact date isn't known at this point. We had planned on doing an overnight lan instead of the two day style we've been doing recently.
Also, there's a good chance that the CGA will be hosting a Brawl tournament sometime this semester as well. More information on that to come.

NEW stuff
So, it's the beginning of the year, and guess what? We're having a LAN. It'll be Friday >amp; Saturday February 1 >amp; 2. I'm not sure of the times, but 6-12 on Friday and 2-12 on Saturday probably isn't a bad guess.
We're looking to do 4 events this semester: 2 LANs, a console gaming night, and a tournament.
And League is Counter-Strike: Source, probably with the GunGame mod. You'll probably need to download the map, so join a couple of minutes before playtime (Tues. 9:00).
King of the Ring is Quake 3 (Thurs. 8:30).
Also, there is a guy (ArcticWombat here on the forums) over in West Campus Suites who is happy to play/train anyone who wants to play Street Fighter 3... I can't remember the subtitle. Go ahead and contact him if you want more info.
